Judge Brian C. McLean was appointed Chief Judge on August 14, 2024, replacing former Chief Judge Marco R. Cloutier, who was appointed to the Court of King’s Bench in July 2024. Prior to this appointment, Judge McLean served as Associate Chief Judge since 2022. Judge McLean graduated from the University of New Brunswick with an honour’s degree in history and political science in 1992 and a law degree in 1995. He practiced law for almost two decades in Carleton County prior to being appointed to the Provincial Court in 2014.
Judge Mélanie Poirier LeBlanc was appointed Associate Chief Judge on August 14, 2024. She joined the Provincial Court judiciary in 2023. She graduated Mount Allison University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and then completed her Bachelor of Laws degree at the Université de Moncton in 2003. She served as Assistant Deputy Attorney General and Director of Public Prosecution Services before being appointed to the judiciary.
